Each day I will report on my progress on the Nature Conservancy's 70 Mile January Challenge. Starting off slowly (but successfully) today was:
Tibbet Knob Trail - 2.0 miles - Out and Back (2/70)
Solid uphill to splendid view north and west. Total time about an hour (with lots of rests for water). Medium stony walk, minimal traffic (New Years Day gets people out, so we saw three couples in the course of the hike. Access from Columbia Furnace, Virginia (trail can continue to Wolf Gap Run for more distance). Today's color was yellow - a day with only grays, ochres, browns, blue sky and yellow trail markers - looks like the "I" for information on a map.
